  • Slightly disappointing

I had an HP48G scientific calculator for over twenty years and used it with great success in dealing with university and research-level mathematical problems. The HP Prime is a beautiful machine, but appears to be aimed primarily at gadget-orientated 17 and 18 year-olds. The hope that the HP Prime would be able to do things that my HP48G could not for reasons of, for instance, memory limitations did not come true. As a practical and handy tool for a mathematical scientist the HP Prime does not live up to the promise of its impressive memory and high calculating speed.

  • HP Prime, a good product flawed.

I have several reasons for wanting to buy an HP calculator, and I've had many over the years (I really miss my 48SX.) At 50, I am considering going back to college / uni and studying maths for pleasure and electronics. I currently have an HP 35 (new version) but fancied a new toy/tool/gadget. Two things really irritated me:- 1. No paper manual to read, not even if I wanted to PAY for one. 2. The light blue 2nd function key settings are hard to read even under good lighting conditions. I have other gripes, but those are the main two I reckon that I could design the perfect calculator/computer for you.

  • Nice Calculator

This is a nice calc. Just got it. Found this problems: - if you're in RPN in the home.settings, then I cannot enter any function to any graph ! I have to revert back to textbook before any graph !!! - The blue color on the keys is nearly invisible. It is not usable if you have not a strong light and a good sight.

Experience handheld calculating in the age of touch with the HP Prime Graphing Calculator, which has a full-color, gesture-based, and pinch-to-zoom interface, background images, function sketching, multiple math representations, wireless connectivity[1], and a rechargeable battery.

Enjoy a feature-rich calculating experience with familiar HP keypad and a large 3.5-inch diagonal, multi-touch display.

So many applications in such a small package.

Explore math concepts with Dynamic Geometry, CAS, Advanced Graphing, and spreadsheet applications. Easily switch between symbolic, graphical, and numerical table views with dedicated buttons.

Bring the real world to your math classroom.

Math is all around us, and now the real world lives inside HP Prime. Add a personal image or one from the included library as a background, then sketch and manipulate a function on it with your finger and transform to resize.

Calculate with confidence on your tablet or phone.

Support blended learning and 1:1 device environments with the optional HP Prime Mobile App[5], which has all the same features as the calculator so students can easily switch between the calculator and the Windows®-, iOS-, and Android®-compatible app.
