Not as pleased as I wished to be

After having purchased an HP Printer, I am quite disappointed with the ink function. I purchased the correct ink cartridges, all normal size except for the black, which is the XL size and have installed them according to the directions in the manual. I am now unable to print a document as it fails to print at all and leaves creases in the paper. I am hoping you will be able to offer me some assistance as to where to go from here. There is a slow blue flashing light, which I cannot be rid of. I do not have wireless and was wondering if this could be the reason for the flashing blue light. Is it necessary to have wireless with this printer?

I found the machine quite useful as for high ink users, I just use the syringe method and refill each color in turn, just leave the cartridges in the machine and top up each one over time you get the feel of how much to fill,(don't overfill) press the clean head function and ready to use, does outstanding quality color photos on most papers.Have always used generic refill system for years now on HP machines, the color is the same as original, and much better value for money. If you only use now and again, the machine will use lots of ink at start-up and priming, so wait until you have a lot of photos to print and do them in batches of 20 + costs around 10/12c each which is comparable with photoshops. My best purchase so far $85, many happy family and friends photos done.

Brilliant, feature rich, best for price!!

I have tried ALOT of cheaper feature rich printers, mainly for printing using AIRPLAY from my ipad4/mini, ipod5, iphone5, and galaxyS3/nexus7 so works well with no hassles for both IOS and ANDROID etc etc, the setup was so fast, soon as I connected to the net wirelessly, it did a software update installing the latest firmware to the printer, again no hassles.. the eprint works well, the printer is $129 retail, JBHIFI (aussie) has it for $80 at present, it sells in the apple stores for $129 also with 5 star reviews, its fast, quiet, has superb quality, and double sided options for PDFs etc, it also has a heap of apps you can arrange and add to the touchscreen panel in your choice of order, has Crayola and kids apps, colouring in pages by the hundreds, from dreamworks/Disney etc, so some fun things for the kids to do with ease.. airplay finds and prints from a good range, comes with a free pack of premium photo paper as well as a bonus, adding the printer to my laptops were just a click no CD needed, you don't need any apps on your mobile device to airprint, but... if you download the HPeprint/control centre app/s, you can adj the printer settings as well as seeing the print history and ink levels etc etc, def by far the best printer in all aspects you could buy for the under/around the $100 mark.. would recommend to everyone without a doubt..
Poor paper feed

Chewed paper, Paper jam, Paper non feed, Two sheet feed. All led to a poor print. On the bonus side HP have happily replaced it 4 times.
