I bought this as a previous similar P1005 stopped working after upgrade to a PC with Windows 8! Small footprint, so takes up minimum space. Neat simple design, software installation worked fairly well with W8, though be patient for drivers to install! Excellent print quality and fast throughput for a "domestic" laser printer at this price. USB connection works very well, though the manual guidance (from the CD) for setting up Wireless connection to another laptop etc is not very clear, and takes some working out, but once done works very well. Able to print from a Laptop with W7 wirelessly, once the software downloaded via the ip address of the printer (read the manual carefully!) Very pleased with this and would recommend as a small simple Laser printer for those not wanting huge or very fast throughput.

Have to tell you that we have purchased 2 of these printer and after 2 years we have the same problem. It always quiets pulling the paper through. We took out the extended warranty and Office Depo does no longer exist in Canada. Serial No., VNB4D34682

The wireless connection is easy to set up using a usb lead. I now have 2 laptops, a netbook and my main desktop printing throught this. Nice crisp print but I don't see why HP give only a starter cartridge to print 700 pages, when a full cartridge will print 1600 pages, and considering the amount of draft printing I do before making finished colour copies on a different machine it's a bit annoying. All in all, though, the ability to print from anywhere in wireless range is a very useful feature.

  • A great Little B&W Printer

Bought this as it is (circ. Nov 2010) the Number one Best Buy in the "Which" Consumer guide magazine, and also because I was getting tired out of the grey printers I was getting from my Samung ML-2010R Mono Laser printer, that 's despite having contacted them to raise the issue, and replacing several toner cartridges.
