I am very happy with this product. It was fairly easy to install and have been happy with the scanning/copying/faxing features. Would recommend it for small business or home use.
Diminishing HP Quality

I had a PhotoSmart AIO before and it worked flawlessly. Printing quality was excellent. Old Photosmart machine is 4years old and still going strong. This recent purchase of an overpriced OfficeJet send me into fury. I had to return the printer 3 times because of manufacturing faults. 1. First the touchscreen was not aligned and the printer offers no option or setting to align the screen. 2. Second time, time the line feed mechanism did not feed the pages properly, no matter how many times I tried calibrate it, the problem wouldn't resolve itself. 3. The third replacement printer had none of the issues above, but I this time it was a print head issue! HP tech support send me new print heads via mail and it is now all working as it should! Poor poor manufacturing quality! Other cons: - The standard printer setup does not take more than 1 type of paper. You must empty the paper tray in order to put in a different paper. There is no way to manually feed paper (for example, printing on envelopes, you must first take out all your paper and put in a stack of envelopes). - Ink drying time is slow. When printing using the auto-duplex, it takes 30secs for ink to dry before the printer allows it to be fed back into the auto-duplexer to print on the reverse side. It takes a total of greater than 50 seconds to print on 1 sheet of paper! - Auto Document Feeder (ADF) does not allow 2 pages to be scanned. It seems to be a software issue, but when scanning to a network drive for example, the ADF will only allow you to scan 1 side of the page. It will not provide you with the option to turn the page over to scan the other side. Very frustrating when you are trying to scan a 2 sided document into 1 single PDF. - Printing quality average at best. Although printer is designed to be a fast and economical printer, the quality of text printed from this machine is average at best. Blacks are not solid and edges are not sharp. - No option for SOHO user to use this as an occasional photo printer. The driver and software provided with this printer does not have any of the features available in the PhotoSmart series of printers. Granted it is an Office printer, but options for colour enhancement, or poster printing etc. would be great, especially for printing presentations!
Best Purchase Ever

I have never been happier with a printer. The ease of use is excellent. Its display shows all relevant information and works quite intuitive as well. One of its best qualities: stand-alone multiple and double-sided scan and saved as a PDF on a connected (at front) USB memory stick. All in one go. It has all connections you need: WiFi, ethernet and USB. Its price seems to me pleasantly low for such a great (and pretty) work horse.

After eight very successful years of using a HP Photosmart 2500 and consultation with the expert HP staff I decided to upgrade to a HP Office Jet PRO 8500. Over the last eight years the development is immeasurable -quality of printing;speed of printing and overall ease of setting up and usage. This is a superb machine and I am delighted with all aspects. The perfect choice!!!!
