Great printer, when you can get it to work! Continuous wireless network problems. Printer loses wireless connection and will not print, even though it says that it is connected. I have spent numerous hours trying to resolve wireless network issues with this printer and would not recommend it to anyone until HP fixes this issue. They continue to put blame on the networks or the Router and never the product itself. Maybe someone at HP should take the time to review the numerous forms posted on this issue. There are so many posters with the same complaint. Unfortunately, If I would have done my homework first and checked the forms I would have chosen another model or brand. Good luck,

HP Officejet Pro 8600 is an excellent printer. Really good on ink. Quality printing of documents and photographs. No complaints. Been using this printer for two years now. Love the ability to print from remote location. Prints very nicely on regular paper, card, specialty papers, stickers etc.

Received my HP today and it was the easiest set up ever - really impressed with the ease - literally minutes. The black & white and coloured printing on DRAFT are both clear and crisp. I also very much like the paper drawer on this machine. The best of the 5 or so HP's I have owned so far - the paper goes in more smoothly and the drawer itself is sturdier. The machine is a bit noisier than either my 6700 or 5400 but not to the point of distraction. Not sure about the ink coverage yet as I don't know how much ink was in the cartridges packed with the printer. The three issues I have with this machine are: 1) When printing on cover stock, the paper is grabbed in such a way that it leaves a 1 inch crease at the top of every single sheet no matter how I place the paper into the feed tray. Very disappointing on a business booklet I needed to put together today. 2) HP is exhibiting far too much control over how customers should use the paper/print settings. Let us decide. Ultimately we know best what our job is for and the quality we are willing to accept - even if that means reduced clarity. That's my decision, HP, not yours! I had a job to do today that was also on cover stock and I wanted to print in draft, fully realizing the colours wouldn't be as crisp or defined but draft is what the job required. No can do on the 8600! 3) Please turn OFF the 'Rewards' program offer or allow us to do this. I am SO TIRED of having to say no to this 'offer'. Twice. Every single cartridge change. This annoyed on my 6700 to the point where I emailed customer relations and was told in a sing-song fashion that no I couldn't turn this off - it's all part of the built-in software. "Enjoy your HP Rewards. Have a good day". Business people don't have time to be refusing what you characterize as 'rewards'. So, yes, I definitely would recommend this product but only for regular letter-weight paper. It is clear and crisp and fast. Not usable for about 1/4 of my office needs though. So I need to buy yet ANOTHER printer! Hopefully one without a 'rewards' program!

I purchased this product a few days ago and returned the item back to the store because it was defective. Poor quality right out of the box. I could not load the ink cartridges because the error code stated Paper Jam (there was no paper in the printer) and Carriage stuck. I called HP and they could not help me, I left phone numbers for HP to call me back and no one bother to call.
